I don’t like being the “cleaning police”

After an exhausting shift in the café the last thing I want to be doing is checking that the staff have properly cleaned the kitchen, store rooms and front of house.

But when we close I want to be sure we are leaving the place spotless so as not to attract pests, loose food due to poor storage or disrespect our reputation for having healthy and wholesome food.

Hey presto I have discovered the cleaning schedule, my life is now much easier, my staff know exactly what is to be cleaned, how, when and why and they sign off on it so now I can rely on “spot checks” which they fully except me to be doing.
